If so, you are most likely using the default quote template in your CoreBridge install.
I visibly shuddered when I first realized that our partners were regularly sending out this template, expecting it to deliver any kind of results. It’s like they never really considered why they were sending the email, other than as a way to get the client the quote.
Sure, the quote is important. The email, however, determines if that quote is even read, and more importantly, accepted. Every communication you have with the client is an opportunity to further your relationship with them, so don’t neglect such an important message at this crucial juncture!
5 Reasons Why This Email Is Terrible
- There is no friendly greeting, no attempt to build a personal relationship.
- It does not build the value of your offering or differentiate you from your competition.
- There is no up-sell, cross-sell, or future sale requests.
- It doesn’t ask for or assume the win.
- It does not tell the customer the next steps for working with you.
While CoreBridge is a great tool, they have not gone to great lengths to provide you with outstanding default templates. However, they have created a system that is relatively easy to manipulate to generate some pretty outstanding, personalized email templates of your own.
It is no more work to use an outstanding template than it is to use a terrible one.
Setup takes only moments, and we have already done all the heavy lifting for you.

CoreBridge Placeholders
The most important part of creating an effective, versatile quote template is understanding the use of placeholders, and how those link to a customer record, order information, or your business details.
What is a Placeholder? A placeholder is a small snippet of text that works as a reference to pull specific information from a customer record or database. For example, the placeholder {{customer.name}} will display as the customer’s name in the email when sent to a specific contact.
Before we can dig into placeholders and how to best utilize them, let’s start with the basics of how to access and update your templates.
How To Access Your CoreBridge Email Templates
- Login to your Corebridge dashboard and navigate to the Management Area using the drop-down in the top right corner.
- Select the Customers tab, then choose the email you wish to edit.
- For the purposes of this article, we will be focusing on the “Email Estimate” Template. Once you have updated and personalized this message using placeholders, and understand how the templates work, I would encourage you to review the other templates available.
CoreBridge provides more information about the different templates available to you, how to access them, and their use on their support website.
The Template Layout
The Email Estimate template provides two editable fields: Email Subject & Email Body, which are self-explanatory.
Placeholders can be used to pull in specific customer record data directly into your email subject or email body for increased personalization. We have extensively discussed how to craft an effective quote, and these same guidelines should be followed when crafting your quote templates.
Proper placement of placeholders throughout your email and subject allows you to craft a quote that can be effective for many different project types. Once you understand what placeholders are available to you, and the information they are referencing, you can create dynamic emails that accomplish the goals of relationship building, proving your value, and ultimately closing the deal.
Understanding Placeholders
CoreBridge provides multiple placeholders that you can use to insert specific customer or project data into your emails automatically. They are divided into categories that link to different databases within your system.
Customer Placeholders refer to components of your customer record such as name, address, phone number
Order/Estimate Placeholders refer to specific job details
My Company Placeholders provide your business details
Logged-In User Placeholders provide the personal details of the person sending the email (you or your team)
CoreBridge provides a list of available placeholders below the template for quick insertion into your quotes.
WARNING! Make sure that you are only putting appropriate information into your CoreBridge system. Discourage your employees from including unflattering notes, or ensure those are kept in an area where they will not be accidentally displayed in an outgoing email.

You can update, personalize, or adjust this template however you see fit. The point is, if you are still sending out the base CoreBridge email, your competitors may very well be doing the same thing. And it is hard to stand out in a sea of non-descript subject lines if you are doing the exact same thing as everyone else.
Whether you use this template, create your own, or write a personalized email every time, be different. Your customers and your wallet will thank you.
